FISHING IN THE TIN CAN BAY INLET
The Tin Can Bay Inlet offers excellent calm water fishing especially during the summer months. Our Dolphin Dories can operate in the area from Poverty Point in the South to Inskip Point and Pelican Bay to the North.
(A) Inskip Point. Top summer whiting spot in early summer. Dart, bream and the odd mackerel are also taken. Tailer, bream and jew in Winter. Worms are the best whiting bait, with W.A. pilchards the go for tailer. Blackall are taken in the main channel in good numbers.
(B) Pelican Bay. Tailer, bream, cod and jew in the winter and early summer. Plenty of mud crabs as you move in closer to Bullock Point.
(C) Pannikan Island Banks. Good whiting and mackerel in summer, as well as mud crabs.
(D) Teebah Ledge. A good cod spot. Whiting and flathead on the banks.
(E) Teebah Creek. Excellent spot for mangrove jacks. Use live baits or lures. Big mud crabs in summer and sand crabs most of the time.
(F) Smogger Banks. Parrot, school sharks, cod and blackall near the channel.
(G) Parrot Hole. Parrot, cod, whiting, flathead and bream.
(H) Poverty Point. Whiting, bream and flathead in good numbers. Good catches of sand and mud crabs in summer.
